Wandering in Amber

Amber (Rajasthan state) is the ancient capital of Ddundhar, which was afterwards transferred to Jaipur in 1727. The city is located North-East of Jaipur, on the banks of a small lake, Maota, on a hilly area. Amber counts 452000 in habitants and it is home to one of the most impressive Mughal fortifications, the Amber Palace.

Unable to visit the Palace as we had no cash with us (what a funny idea!) and card payments weren't possible that day, we rapidly found a plan B: visit randomly Amber, its step well and regular neighborhoods, its fortified walls that unfold around the city.
